The formation of a college level Women Development Cell was made mandatory in the year 2014. The Women Development Cell was formed in our college in the year 2014 under the Chairmanship of PRINCIPAL DR. (MRS.). S. HARICHANDAN.

The main aim of this cell is to create a safe environment for all the girls in the college premises. Encourage, enhance and empower, is the Motto of the Women Development Cell of our college. Along with this our college WDC takes some extra efforts and tries to create awareness among college students. The cell participates in various intra college competitions like essay writing, poster making, Scrap books Dramatics etc and also organizes workshops and seminars for girls.

The Women’s Development Cell is one of H.B. B.Ed. College’s most socially inclined student-teacher associations. The WDC is an active student - oriented organization that revolves around the upliftment of women. It is not only run by female members,but also includes a considerable number of male members who play a key role in the core-committee, events, planning and functioning of the cell.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

  1. To prevent sexual harassment and to promote general well-being of female students, teaching and non teaching women staff of H .B. B. Ed. College.

  2. To create social awareness about the problems of women and in particular regarding gender discrimination.

  3. To encourage participation of NGOs working in the area of women’s development in the activities of the Cell.

  4. To organize seminars, workshops for creating general awareness and orientation of students, teachers, non-teaching staff for their active and sustained participation in the activities of Cell.

  5. To organize various types of training programmes and create awareness about self-employment schemes for the encouragement of self-reliance among women.
